Welcome to Mother Rapids Fish Camps — where wilderness meets family legacy.

We’re the Thibodeau family: Mike, Natasha, Apple, and Archer, based in Minnitaki, Ontario. We’ve poured our hearts into this remote fly-in gem between McCusker and Keeper Lakes in Northwestern Ontario’s Sunset Country — 50 miles from civilization, perfect for world-class walleye and lake trout fishing.

As new stewards, we’re honored to continue a proud tradition of wilderness hospitality that stretches back through The Northlander and Beauchene’s. This  legendary camp has created lifelong memories for anglers and families in this pristine area. We’re excited to carry that legacy forward, blending respect for its history with our family’s passion for the outdoors and thoughtful updates for today’s guests.

Mike, drawn to the quiet woods and thrill of the water, dreamed of sharing this magic as caretakers. Mother Rapids offers five cozy, fully equipped cabins (sleeping 2–8), docks on two proven lakes, and endless chances to unplug and connect.

Natasha adds warmth, making every stay feel like home — from cabin prep to fireside stories.

Apple, our artist, captures camp’s beauty: sketching sunrises, painting pines, rapids, or fresh catches, reminding us to notice the details.

Archer, our guide-in-training, thrives outdoors — learning trails, reading water, and already helping guide guests with energy and sharp eyes for wildlife.

Our commitment is to younger generations — starting with our kids and extending to every family stepping off the floatplane. We focus on presence: learning skills like knot-tying and fire-starting, building confidence reeling in trophies, waking to loons, creating fire-pit memories, and fostering respect for nature.
